What to Expect at a Hold Me Tight® Workshop
A science-based, engaging, and supportive experience for couples of all kinds.
Results – Backed by Science
Hold Me Tight® is a relationship program developed by Dr. Susan Johnson, internationally recognized as a leader in the field of Couples Therapy. Research shows that Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps 75% of couples move from a place of disconnection or loneliness to one of connection and closeness. Better yet, 90% of these couples maintain their connection over time! To date, professional journals have published over twenty positive outcome studies demonstrating the success of EFT.
Hold Me Tight® is offered all around the world. In these workshops, couples learn what’s really going on beneath arguments and how to get to the heart of the matter.
Who It’s For
This workshop is for all committed couples — married, unmarried, straight, or gay. It can help whether you’re considering divorce, wanting to repair past hurts, or simply looking to deepen an already strong relationship.
Here’s What You’ll Learn
You and your partner will learn how to recognize the “demon dialogs” that cause distress, explore the feelings and needs underneath your words and actions, deepen your emotional and physical intimacy, create experiences that can keep your love alive, build on your strengths, reduce negative patterns, learn how to forgive, repair, and heal, and improve the way you communicate.
Here’s What You Won’t Find
You won’t sit through two days of dry PowerPoint presentations. You won’t be blamed or criticized — science shows that relationship struggles are about patterns, not one partner being at fault. And you won’t be asked to share personal information with the group — all conversations remain private between you and your partner.
What We’ll Do Together
EFT-trained therapists will present the core tenets of the “Science of Love,” helping you see, understand, and change the negative patterns that cause disconnection. You’ll watch video demonstrations, receive templates for having new conversations, and have dedicated time with your partner to practice. Therapists will be available throughout the workshop for guidance and support. This program focuses on health, resilience, and growth — empowering you to walk the path to healing and reconnection together.
