We are honored to welcome Rebecca Jorgensen, LCMHC, ICEEFT Certified Trainer and Supervisor, to St. Louis for our 2026 Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy Externship. The EFCT Externship is a four day, in person core training and the foundational step in learning Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. This internationally recognized training introduces therapists to a clear, structured, and deeply relational model for helping couples move from distress and disconnection toward secure emotional bonding. Therapists from across the Midwest are invited to join four days of immersive learning that integrates research, clinical application, and experiential practice. Whether you are new to EFT or seeking to refresh and deepen your skills, this externship offers a grounded and inspiring roadmap for working with couples. |

What to Expect
This externship introduces the core theory, clinical framework, and interventions of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, the most empirically supported model of couple intervention available today.
You will learn how to:

- Understand relationship distress through an attachment lens and recognize the emotional logic of conflict
- Help partners access and reprocess emotional responses that maintain negative interactional cycles
- Shape key interactions that foster safety, emotional accessibility, and bonding moments
- Navigate common therapeutic impasses and guide couples toward secure connection

Dates: Tuesday through Friday, October 20–23, 2026 Times: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily Location: Pathfinders Church; 15800 Manchester Rd.; Ellisville, MO 63011 Continuing Education: 24 CEUs are available for purchase. Final CEU details will be listed in accordance with licensing requirements. All registrations close on October 12, 2026. This includes regular registrations, scholarship registrations, and all remaining balance payments. No registrations or payments will be accepted after this date. |

Scholarship funds are limited and are intended to support as many therapists as possible. Full scholarships may be available in rare circumstances based on demonstrated need and available funds.
Because scholarship funding is limited, we ask applicants to thoughtfully consider the level of support that would make attendance possible.

Applications to facilitate at the October 20 through October 23, 2026 EFCT Externship are due by September 4, 2026.
- Facilitator application deadline: September 4, 2026
- Facilitator selections communicated by: September 22, 2026
- Selected facilitators must confirm their acceptance and availability by September 29, 2026.
All selected facilitators must complete the required ICEEFT Training for Helpers materials by October 6, 2026. Final assignments and training logistics will be distributed prior to the training.
The number of facilitator positions will depend on participant registration, the needs of the training, current ICEEFT guidance, and the trainer’s recommendations. Some qualified applicants may be placed on a facilitator waitlist while registration numbers are finalized.
