Welcome
Hello STL EFT Community, As we move into spring, there is a natural sense of movement and renewal. This season invites growth not only in the world around us, but also in our clinical work and professional development. Within our community, we are especially focused this year on deepening our work with couples through Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). Many therapists find themselves longing for a clearer map when working with conflict, disconnection, and attachment injuries in couple relationships. EFCT offers a powerful, research-based framework that helps us move beyond surface-level problem solving into meaningful emotional change. This season, we are excited to highlight opportunities to deepen your EFCT work, stay connected in community, and continue growing as an EFT therapist. With appreciation, The St. Louis EFT Community Board of Directors |

Recap of Advanced Attachment Injury Training with Teri Murphy during April 2026
We were honored to host Teri Murphy for an in-person Advanced EFCT Training and Consultation in St. Louis this spring. Approximately 30 clinicians, including community members, board members, and EFT supervisors, gathered to deepen their work with couples. The training focused on strengthening therapists’ ability to navigate attachment injuries, facilitate Stage 2 change events, and remain grounded in the EFT model while working with complex couple dynamics. Through didactic teaching, clinical examples, and consultation, participants engaged in meaningful learning and skill development. Beyond the clinical content, the training reflected the strength of our community, with a shared commitment to growth, connection, and excellence in EFT practice. We are grateful to Teri Murphy for her leadership and to all who participated in making this training a rich and engaging experience. |
*New* Training Resource: Attachment Injury Overview
Following our recent Healing Attachment Injuries training, Teri Murphy generously shared this visual summary with our community. It offers a clear, practical framework for understanding attachment injury work in EFT, including therapist stance, safety, and the flow of a session. |
